LOS ANGELES (AP) — Sylvester Stallone and Jason Statham weren't enough to save “ Expend4bles ” from a debut box office flop. The Lionsgate and Millennium's film, also known as “Expendables 4,” pulled in a mediocre $8.3 million for the big-budget project. It starred several popular names, including Stallone, Statham, Curtis “50 Cent" Jackson, Megan Fox and Dolph Lundgren. It's been nearly a decade since the franchise released a film, which opened with $15.8 million and eventually grossed $214 million globally. But times have certainly changed, as the film barely placed second behind “The Nun 2," a horror movie that earned $8.4 million in its first week.

I know that time travelers may have sunk the Titanic by visiting it in excessive numbers. By now you can see that “The Theory of Everything Else” is all over the map. Its broadness is mainly an asset — it makes the book suitable for beach reading or for mainlining before a dinner party. Schreiber brings a formidable amount of research to bear, and he’s careful never to mock any of his subjects, even those who may deserve it. But he’s sometimes too adept at quarantining the weirdness, too certain of where the rational ends and the irrational begins.

CNN —I am going to say the quiet part out loud: some people very much enjoy drama. Sylvester Stallone faced off against many foes in his decades playing the boxer Rocky Balboa, but he was no match for Adele. In an interview with the Wall Street Journal, Stallone revealed that the "Hello" singer drove a hard bargain when it came time to close the deal for his Los Angeles mansion last year. While the two had agreed on a $58 million price tag for the eight-bedroom, 12-bathroom 21,000-square-foot home, negotiations hit a snag when Adele revealed that she wanted to keep one of the home's most unique features. Stallone had planned to take the Rocky statue he installed overlooking the property's infinity pool, but was met with an ultimatum from Adele.

Over the course of his decades-long career, Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson has learned a thing or two about success. He's a Grammy-winning rapper, successful businessman and a prolific actor who stars and produces in both TV and film. "One of the unwritten laws of power is to appear not to need anything," Jackson said. Jackson met movie producer Avi Lerner when he was already a millionaire from his rap career. Jackson has since produced dozens of TV shows and films — like "Power" and "Power Book II: Ghost" — with plenty more on the way.

NEW YORK, May 16 - Hollywood star Sylvester Stallone has a new project - starring in his own reality TV show with his family. "The Family Stallone", which premieres on Paramount+ this week, features scenes of Stallone on set filming television series "Tulsa King" as well as at home with his family. The family said the idea for the show stemmed from Sistine and Sophia's podcast "Unwaxed". Asked about comparisons to hit show "The Kardashians", Stallone said: "I think the Kardashians were brilliant in what they did and very original, we're taking a different tack. That's who they are, we are who we are and that's what I think gives the audience a variety."
You can stream the "Rocky" movies on services like Prime Video, HBO Max, and Paramount Plus. The six original "Rocky" films and the first two "Creed" movies are all available to stream, rent, or purchase online. The Creed series is a Hollywood miracle in many ways. It's a lucrative spinoff of the beloved, decades-old Rocky series, but it has its own modern style and sensibility. Jordan's road to the director's chair was paved by Ryan Coogler, who wrote and directed the first Creed film, as well as Steven Caple Jr., who directed the second. Stallone was not involved with the third Creed film and declined CNBC's request for comment. The first film, 2015's "Creed," followed Adonis, the son of Rocky's longtime rival and later friend, Apollo Creed.

REUTERS/Henry NichollsLONDON, Feb 15 (Reuters) - Michael B. "It was challenging but I never felt more alive," Jordan told Reuters of his directorial debut at the "Creed III" premiere in London on Wednesday. One potential storyline could concern Creed's opponent in "Creed II", Viktor Drago, son of "Rocky IV" character boxer Ivan Drago. Viktor makes an appearance in "Creed III".
Paramount+ (formerly CBS All Access) is beefing up by bringing sister network Showtime into the fold. "The shows with rich, deep libraries are the ones that get a lot of consumption," said Paramount+ streaming chief Tanya Giles. But Paramount+ (formerly CBS All Access) is beefing up by bringing sister network Showtime into the fold — rebranding both the Showtime cable network and the streamer as Paramount+ With Showtime. Paramount+ is also building upon its library with originals: The streamer recently revived "Criminal Minds," which aired on CBS for 15 seasons. In anticipation of "Criminal Minds: Evolution," viewership of the original CBS "Criminal Minds" jumped 46%, a Paramount+ spokeperson shared with Insider.

CNN —“Yellowstone” is one of those mysteries of the TV business, a series that generates major ratings but like the late comic Rodney Dangerfield, doesn’t always get much respect. Yet the new season of the Paramount Network series nevertheless reaches for what feels like a bit more relevance by making a sharper turn into politics, to go with all of the soapy doings around John Dutton, the character played by Kevin Costner, and his sprawling ranch. Granted, Montana politics has been a part of the series since the beginning. The new season of “Yellowstone” might even get a few more people talking about it. “Yellowstone” premieres its fifth season November 13 at 8 p.m.
There are several fictions perpetrated by the vaguely comic “Tulsa King.” One suggests that there are areas of this country so innocent and untouched by evildoers that an aging mob capo could come in and transform the place, virtually overnight, into Vito Corleone’s Little Italy circa 1920. Another suggests that said gangster, Dwight Manfredi ( Sylvester Stallone ), could be mistaken by an extremely attractive local woman ( Andrea Savage ) for a “hard 55” rather than his actual 75 years of age. It’s something that the series has to deal with eventually and does quickly, if not mercifully.
Enter “Tulsa King,” a slim vehicle for Sylvester Stallone that’s a little too overtly designed as a mobster fish out of water. “There’s nothing left for you here,” says the new boss (“The Wire’s” Domenick Lombardozzi), noting, “We can’t just rewind the clock.”Conceptually, though, that’s exactly what “Tulsa King” does, or at least tries to do, exiling Dwight to the dreary confines of Oklahoma. “Tulsa King” turns out to be a rather odd mix of attributes, relying almost entirely on Stallone’s movie-star charisma as the show alternates between sitcom conventions and R-rated “The Sopranos”-flecked flourishes. In that sense, “Tulsa King” suggests maybe you can rewind the clock, just a little, even if you’re gonna fly a little bit lower now. “Tulsa King” premieres November 13 on Paramount+.

CNN —Sylvester Stallone will not be reprising his role in “Creed III.”Stallone, who began playing “Rocky” in 1976, said in a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter that he doesn’t like where the franchise is headed, so he opted out. It was taken in a direction that is quite different than I would’ve taken it,” Stallone told the publication. I like my heroes getting beat up, but I just don’t want them going into that dark space. I just feel people have enough darkness.”Stallone is still a producer on the film, set for release in March 2023. He will next star in the Paramount+ series “Tulsa King,” playing a mobster released from prison who’s exiled to Oklahoma.
